Iowa Children's Water Festival
Iowa Association of Water Agencies coordinates the Iowa Children’s Water Festival (ICWF) with other water utilities and agencies. The ICWF has been held at Des Moines Area Community College-Ankeny Campus since its inception in 1997 and occurs annually each May. Approximately 2,000 fifth graders from the State of Iowa attend this free one-day event to learn about the wonders of water.
The ICWF hosts more than 60 presenters and exhibitors and 150 volunteers each year. This is a unique opportunity for children to learn about the many aspects of water in Iowa and throughout the world through hands-on activities, games and exhibit hall.

You should never drink water from a lake, river, pond, or stream no matter how clean it looks. It can contain invisible bacteria and chemicals.
