Who is the Office of the CEO?

The responsibilities of the Office of the CEO are diverse; however, they encompass the vital aspects that ensure customers are receiving water you can trust for life – including the foresight and communication needed to operate the utility.

Through a wide variety of projects, activities and commitments, the Office of the CEO is responsible for providing quality water in reliable quantities, while operating on the cutting edge with fiscal responsibility, anticipating and meeting the needs of an expanding base of Iowa customers.

Office of the CEO Team

CEO and General Manager

The CEO and General Manager reports to Board of Water Works Trustees and oversees the Senior Management Team. The CEO and General Manager participates actively in internal/external committees and organizations and serves on numerous boards and committees, both within the water industry as well as in the community.

Executive Assistant

Our Executive Assistant interacts on behalf of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager with customers and officials. The Executive Assistant serves as the contact for all Board of Trustees and prepares and maintains official Board of Trustee meeting minutes.

Public Policy-Watershed Advocate

The Public Policy-Watershed Advocate oversees legislative and regulatory issues, as well as reviews and monitors the state legislature. The position coordinates/writes comment letters for government or industry regulations, and focuses on improving source water quality through watershed initiatives. 

What it’s Like to Work in the Office of the CEO at DMWW

Our team works with community and utility leaders working on the beginning stages of projects and issues. Staff works with our Board of Trustees, who are community leaders, in formulating new policies and strategies for the utility.

Through various utility projects and initiatives, employees in the Office of the CEO experience a wide variety of activities associated with operating a municipal utility.  They also provide leadership for events like the Iowa Children’s Water Festival.
