 Water Service Leaks

If your water service line is leaking, repairing the leak is your responsibility.  (see ownership of water service lines)  Municipal plumbing codes require that repairs be made by a licensed plumber.  A listing of plumbers may be found in the yellow pages. 

If Des Moines Water Works detects a leak on your water service line you will be notified.  You will be asked to have the repair completed in a specific amount of time. 

Emergency repairs may be required if the service line leak is causing a hazard such as ice or a void under the street.
